After an early breakfast, head into Mikumi National Park for a full day of wildlife viewing. The Mkata floodplain, sometimes referred to as a “mini-Serengeti,” is especially rich in wildlife. Stop for a picnic lunch at one of the designated spots before continuing your exploration. After breakfast, meet your local hiking guide and begin your full-day hike into Udzungwa Mountains National Park, often called the “Galápagos of Africa” due to its high level of endemic species. Trek through dense rainforest trails filled with butterflies, monkeys (like the rare Iringa red colobus), and tropical birdlife. The highlight is reaching the stunning Sanje Waterfall, cascading nearly 170 meters. Take time to relax, swim in the natural pools, and enjoy a packed lunch before descending.
