This morning, you’ll take a scenic domestic flight from Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve). After settling in, you’ll head out for a sunset boat safari on the Rufiji River—a peaceful and exciting introduction to Tanzania’s southern wilderness. Spend the afternoon at leisure—relax and take in the peaceful atmosphere of the park, with optional short walks or a sundowner by the lodge.

Mikumi’s wide, open plains resemble the Serengeti, and today you'll spend the full day exploring them. This park is excellent for spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and a rich variety of birdlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and return to the camp as the sun begins to set.

After breakfast, drive to nearby Udzungwa Mountains National Park for a unique hiking experience.
