Overview

This 8-day Luxury safari takes you through some of Tanzania’s best wildlife areas during the wildebeest calving season. You’ll start in Tarangire, known for its elephants and baobab trees, then move on to the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game viewing. From there, you’ll head to Ndutu in the southern Serengeti, where the calving migration attracts predators and offers incredible sightings over three days. After that, you’ll explore Central Serengeti before flying back to Arusha. It’s a well-paced trip that combines classic safari spots with the drama of the migration season.

After breakfast in Arusha, you’ll hit the road and head to Tarangire National Park. It’s a great introduction to the safari, known for big elephant herds and huge baobab trees. You’ll spend the day exploring the park, looking out for lions, giraffes, zebras, and plenty more. In the late afternoon, you’ll drive to your accommodation for dinner and a good night’s rest.

Start the day with a morning game drive to catch animals while they’re still active. Then after brunch, you’ll drive toward the Ngorongoro Highlands. The scenery along the way is stunning. You’ll arrive in the early evening, just in time to settle in and have dinner at your in your accommodation near Ngorongoro crater

You’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater early in the morning. The game viewing here is incredible — expect to see rhinos, elephants, hippos, and possibly a big cat or two. After a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, you’ll drive out of the crater and continue to the Ndutu area, arriving in time for dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

This is where the magic happens during calving season. You’ll spend the whole day in Ndutu tracking the wildebeest herds and watching out for predators like cheetahs, hyenas, and lions. Today is all about Central Serengeti. You’ll head out for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. This area is great for spotting big cats and large herds of buffalo and antelope. The rocky outcrops (kopjes) here are favorite hangouts for lions and leopards.

Enjoy a relaxed morning game drive before breakfast. Afterward, you’ll be driven to the airstrip for your flight back to Arusha. It’s a short scenic flight over the plains. Once you land, you’ll be transferred to your hotel or the airport, depending on your plans. Safari ends, but the memories will stick with you.
