Last reviewed: 16 October 2026. Please read these terms before confirming a booking with Safari Escort.
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern safari, trekking, beach and related travel services arranged by Safari Escort in Tanzania. They form part of the agreement between Safari Escort and every traveller named in a confirmed booking.
The lead traveller must share these terms with the rest of the party and is responsible for providing complete and accurate booking information on their behalf.
2. Booking and confirmation
A booking is confirmed after Safari Escort receives the required deposit and issues written confirmation. The confirmed itinerary, invoice and any trip-specific written conditions form part of the agreement.
Availability is not guaranteed until confirmation. Flights, permits, accommodation and other supplier services may carry additional conditions or non-refundable charges, which will be communicated where applicable.
3. Payments
A deposit of 30% of the total tour cost is required to secure a booking unless a different amount is stated in writing. The remaining 70% must be paid no later than 14 days before the safari begins, or in cash on arrival when Safari Escort has expressly agreed to that arrangement in writing.
Bank charges, card fees, exchange costs and intermediary fees are the traveller’s responsibility unless the invoice states otherwise. Safari Escort may cancel an uncompleted booking when payment is not received by the agreed deadline.
4. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellation requests must be sent in writing. The date Safari Escort receives that notice determines the applicable cancellation terms:
- More than 30 days before departure: amounts paid may be refunded after deducting the non-refundable deposit and any non-recoverable supplier costs.
- 14–30 days before departure: 50% of the tour cost is refundable.
- 7–14 days before departure: 75% of the tour cost is refundable.
- Fewer than 7 days before departure or failure to travel: no refund is available.
Where airlines, lodges, permits or other suppliers apply stricter non-refundable conditions, those costs will also be deducted. No refund is due for voluntarily unused services after travel has begun.
5. Travel insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and may be required for some activities. Cover should be suitable for cancellation, interruption, baggage, medical treatment, evacuation, trekking altitude and the specific activities in the itinerary.
6. Customer responsibilities
Travellers are responsible for valid passports, visas, vaccinations, insurance and all entry requirements. They must disclose relevant medical, mobility or dietary needs, follow safety instructions, respect Tanzanian law and local customs, and behave in a way that does not endanger people, wildlife or property.
Safari Escort may refuse or end participation where a traveller’s conduct presents a serious safety or operational risk. Any resulting costs remain the traveller’s responsibility.
7. Safari Escort responsibilities
Safari Escort will use reasonable care when planning and delivering the confirmed services and when selecting local suppliers. Routes, activity times and accommodation may be adjusted where safety, weather, road, wildlife, park or supplier conditions make this reasonably necessary.
When a named service becomes unavailable, Safari Escort will make reasonable efforts to provide a comparable alternative and will explain any material change.
8. Liability and inherent risk
Safari, trekking, marine and remote travel involve inherent risks, including wildlife encounters, road conditions, altitude, weather, illness and limited access to medical facilities. Wildlife sightings, summit success, journey times and sea conditions cannot be guaranteed.
Safari Escort is not responsible for loss caused by a traveller’s own acts, failure to follow instructions, independent arrangements or events outside reasonable control, except where responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Force majeure
Safari Escort is not liable for failure or delay caused by extraordinary circumstances beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, epidemics, government action, border restrictions, civil disturbance, strikes, airline disruption or park closures.
In such circumstances, the team will assist with practical alternatives where possible. Any refund or additional cost depends on recoverable supplier payments and the services actually available.
10. Privacy
Safari Escort uses personal information to prepare quotations, manage bookings, communicate with travellers and provide the requested services. Information may be shared with relevant hotels, airlines, guides, activity providers and authorities only as needed to operate the trip or meet legal requirements.
11. Complaints
Please raise any concern immediately with the guide or local operations team so there is an opportunity to resolve it during the journey. If the matter remains unresolved, submit a written complaint with supporting details within 14 days after the trip ends.
12. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from a Safari Escort booking are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania and are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Tanzania.
13. Changes to these terms
Safari Escort may update these terms when its services, supplier requirements or applicable laws change. The version supplied with or available at the time of booking applies unless a later change is expressly accepted in writing.
14. Acceptance
Payment of a deposit or written confirmation to proceed signifies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions by the lead traveller and all members of the booking party.
